Plant Care

Light: Full sun (6+ hrs/day)

Soil: Good drainage is imperative, so any well-drained soil will do

Water: Low to average water needs. Drought tolerant.

Fertilizing: One application of a rose fertilizer in early spring is sufficient; becomes open and floppy if grown in high fertility environments

Pruning: In both warm and cold climates, prune bluebeard back to a few inches above the ground each spring. This keeps plants dense and compact. In cold climates, wait until you see signs of growth beginning to emerge on the stems before pruning.
