Light: Enjoys a more low-light situation. Enjoys a maximum of four hours of direct light, but will thrive in a full shade garden.
Soil: Needs to grow in acidic soils with good moisture content. As it doesn’t enjoy growing in the sunlight, the soil will be cool.
Water: Likes to have even moisture.
Fertilizing: Nothing special required.
Pruning: It has a lightly suckering habit that can be controlled through annual pruning in the springtime.
