Plant Care
Prefers moist, fertile soils. As plants mature, they may need to be thinned: prune out old branches in late winter or early spring. Do not remove more than 25% of a bush in any year as the plant flowers on old wood.
A very cold hardy and adaptable orchard plant that makes it easy for homeowners to grow their own berries. L. caerulea is native to the boreal regions of North America and Eurasia and is well-adapted to cold climates. Yezberry™ varieties were bred from pure Japanese strains and produce exceptional yields of very sweet fruit in summer. Yezberry® Maxie™ has the largest fruit ever seen on a Japanese haskap variety. The large, blue fruit is shaped like an olive and is very easy to harvest. Plant near Yezberry® Solo™ for the best fruit production.
